Solace Studio

Solace Studio is a small wellness brand built around the idea that taking care of yourself should feel simple and welcoming. The team wanted a website that felt calm without looking clinical, and made it easy for visitors to learn about the studio, explore its services, and book a first session.

I created a visual direction inspired by natural textures, warm neutrals, and gentle movement. The homepage introduces the studio’s approach, while dedicated sections explain each service in clear, reassuring language. I designed the layouts for mobile and desktop, then built the experience in Framer with subtle hover details and smooth transitions.

The final site gives Solace a more recognizable online presence and helps visitors feel at ease before they even walk through the door.

In this example, we’re implementing three key optimizations:

  1. Lazy Loading (lazy & Suspense)
Instead of loading HeavyComponent immediately, it is loaded only when needed. This helps reduce initial page load time.

  2. Memoization with useMemo
The expensive calculation (multiplying count * 2) is only recalculated when count changes. Without useMemo, it would be re-evaluated on every render, which is inefficient.

  3. Preventing Unnecessary Re-renders with useCallback & React.memo

    • The handleChange function is memoized with useCallback to prevent it from being recreated on every render.

    • The entire ParentComponent is wrapped in React.memo, ensuring it only re-renders when props change, rather than unnecessarily updating due to state changes in unrelated parts of the app.
